Ok, no offense Evan, but i am sooo glad to be done with this semester.

I have learned a lot of interesting little things in this course and now have increased my experience in front of a classroom. I have also learned how to seek out help for things i don’t know how to do. That is probably the biggest thing that i am taking away from this course. I now know that i don’thave to rely on a class or other people, there are so many resources available on-line that i can teach myself with. i do understand that i will need some help at times, but i feel much more confident in my own abilities. At times this class wasn’t the greatest and everyone dropped the ball, but we have all pulled it together here at the end. I hope that you have enjoyed our class this semester with Andrew and I, Jordan and Scott, Kyle, Hollie, Leah…. I know that i have certainly had an entertaining time.

Well I believe that Andrew’s and my No Clue Demo went really well. I think that we did a great job teaching, going at a good pace and making sure that everyone understood what needed to be done. The only problem was….we taught the wrong thing! we taught them what they already knew. As Andrew and i started looking up different tutorials and information for our No Clue Demo, we were really confused when we came along the exact same thing that we had done in class already and that you had sent us a jing on. But we went through with it anyways and here we are. I was soo embarrassed when you said that we were supposed to teach MOTION tweens, not shape tweens. Andrew just kept telling me not to sweat it, i wasn’t really worried about it, just embarrassed that we had done that. But at least we did a good job teaching what we did.

So we presented our video projects this week. It was quite amusing watching what other people had come up with. The planning was easy, and editing was fine, the recording was rushed though because there was a class coming into the room we were recording in. And i was so glad for the 5min jing review that you did on how to convert it and put it on our website. Over all it was a learning process and i think that it turned out well.

Well we’ve finally set down some dates for what is left for the semester. I don’t believe that any of it hard, it just was a bit overwhelming to get it all at once, especially when we hadn’t gone over what was required of each yet. But now that we have it doesn’t seem so bad…we just need to stay motivated and stay on top of things so we aren’t stuck doing it all at the last minute.

Well this week i did my first jing. I’ve had an idea on what I was going to do for a while now (image resizing) and I just needed to put it together. It took a couple time of rerecording it because I felt that when it is a recording, the correct language should be used and it should flow nicely. That took a few times to get it right. the volume of pace where not an issue, but knowing what you should include in the jing and what only needed tobe taught in class was difficult to tell. That is part of the reason why I choose to wait to send out my jing until after i presented in class. I see the jing to be an excellent review tool or a quick little learn when you already know what you need it for.

i like how we have been able to give feed back not only to peoples in-class demonstrations, but to the jing demos as well. I find it interesting how different some peoples are. I am also glad to take a break from the usual concept demos. i was really strugglingto come up with new things to put in them. but i do like the idea of using other programs such as PhotoShop.

It is sad, but i am genually impressed and surprised that i am actually learning things from these jing presentations! Seriously, i didn’t think that there would be that much new stuff that the other students could teach me. I can from a high school with a strong emphasis on computers (at least there were many options for such class) so i have had much experience using these programs. I am no expert by any means, but i do consider myself moderately skilled with most of the functions on these applications, or at least know what they can do and am able to figure out how they work. But from these simple presentations, i have actually learned about new things! It is quite exciting

Jing is an interesting tool. Just playing with it, i have learned a lot. I think that different features, example: how you can choose the section of the screen you wish to view, is awesome. It really lets you have control of your presentation or demonstration.

So with web and publisher I’ve been somewhat playing it safe so far and I think that it is time to add that little something more to make my work stand out. Andrew and I need to put together a brochure to be handed out at the Technical Teacher’s Association or something along those lines, I’m not sure (to which he is presenting about the Rube Goldberg competition). But with his and mine own familiarity and comfort with MS Publisher, I don’t believe that we will have any problems making it look fantastic.

This past week has been quite interesting with Dreamweaver. Since I had a previous website, I simple had to add a link and add a couple more pages. Sounds simple enough, but the issues was getting the blue drive and my local files to match up. It was a pain and took a lot of deleting and re-uploading, but once i finally got it, everything went smoothly. And ps. Andrew is a pain in the butt and thinks he’s a know-it-all. I think that this assignment was a good way to evaluate our expertise of Dreamweaver and our understanding of Chapter 2 all in one, in addition to the learning experience of using Dreamweaver for those who hadn’t worked with it before.
